Check out our live stream from earlier! Some movement or coalition fragmentation happened over the weekend as former vice president Kamala Harris endorsed Abdul El Sayed in Michigan.
Last night, at my town’s city council meeting, an anti flock movement was birthed. Our conservative city manager whose reputation precedes him was the only one to approach us after the meeting to listen to our concerns and have discourse. He actually agreed with our concerns with mass surveillance and while he “assured”us that our information stays within the immediate software and that it has been useful in capturing murderers he promised us that we will have a town hall in September to go over the details of the current contract to maintain transparency. He did say that he is also skeptical of where future contracts may go with our information
…. but that goes to show you that some conservatives can exhibit flexibility and that gives me hope that we can unite in the end. Anyways, keep thinking of actual things we can do outside of electoral politics. They are right when they say we can win by out-organizing not just limiting ourselves to just voting.
When liberals run a centrist/right wing candidate they tell us “we need unity don’t critique their policies”
Then when Socialists/Independents run like Kshama Sawant or Greg, liberals and progressive dems are their biggest roadblock, they refuse to support them
the left is not a voting bloc in the US. i would support an independent candidate like greg but have no trouble saying the the DNC is toxic and unworthy of any support
I really appreciated this discussion personally and would love to see more like it!
I really appreciated that all 3 of you maintained a focus on respecting everybody involved while still being able to discuss differing tactics, strategies, etc
I would love to see more of the Left’s discussions on the future look like this. Cheers!
The over the top intro has grown on me and I’m here for it. 😄 Hate that Harris is endorsing Al-Sayed, ugh (cue liberals and identity political ppl yelling at me)
This is the conversation I really needed to hear today. We’re all battered by the daily carnage of this system, which at times on some level, seems fundamentally rooted in the psychology of our species. It’s good to be able to talk about how we all are orienting what precious time and energy we have to respond to this destruction and effect change. Across the spectrum, it is through care and attention to each others experiences and perspectives that we can shape the future towards something better.
